AGD to launch intelligent radar detectors

Two new intelligent traffic detection systems will be launched at Traffex 2013 in Birmingham, UK by AGD, a UK-based traffic detection product designer and manufacturer. The detectors are based on a new range of frequency-modulated continuous wave (FMCW) ranging radars and can be used in urban as well as semi-urban areas. They can be used to detect queues, speed, vehicle occupancy, speed, vehicle count and are used in red-light enforcement and stop-line detection. The 316 FMCW stop-line RadarDetector operates in the 24GHz band and detects & monitors vehicles at the stop-line of a single lane approach to an intersection. It tracks an approaching vehicle individually using a detection zone and generates a detect state as the vehicles come to a stop. The second model, the 342 Enforcement Radar, also operates in the 24GHz band and measures the speed & range of passing vehicles in multiple lanes. It is suitable for use in a variety of enforcement purposes ? in both fixed and mobile deployment options, with the ability to track eight target events in either approaching or receding
