AStar develops car navigation system

Singapore based AStar has developed a new system that enables drivers to navigate traffic junctions using audible alerts. The system can detect the speed of all vehicles at the traffic junction and warn drivers of impending collisions. It is now on a year-long trial from February 2014 to the end of the year. The new system would eventually be fitted with state-of-the-art equipment that allow car-to-car and car-to-infrastructure communications.
