DMRC begins tunnelling work on 5.5km underground stretch

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has started tunnelling work on the 5.5km long underground Hazrat Nizamuddin ? Lajpat Nagar stretch on the Mukundpur (Majlis Park) ? Shiv Vihar corridor which is a part of Phase III of the Delhi Metro. The corridor will provide direct connectivity to the Sarai Kale Khan Inter State Bus Terminus (ISBT) and the Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station. Hazrat Nizamuddin is the 3rd biggest railway terminus of the national capital after New Delhi and Delhi. Most south bound trains including Rajdhani and super fast trains originate from here while the Sarai Kale Khan ISBT is one of three major bus terminuses of Delhi along with Kashmere Gate and Anand Vihar. Buses for various locations in Haryana, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh originate from here. The Hazrat Nizamuddin Metro station will have dedicated entry/exit points connecting to the railway station and ISBT at Sarai Kale Khan.
