Fuel Cell generators for Volkswagen Vehicles

Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles has placed an order with SFC Energy AG for EFOY Pro fuel cell generators for 242 of its T5 Transporter vehicles which are used by the German Federal Office for Goods Transport (BAG) for toll inspection. The EFOY fuel cell generates power fully automatically, noiselessly and without any emissions for the measuring and surveillance devices and office equipment aboard the BAG vehicles. These devices and equipment need to be charged periodically as they are operated for more than eight hours a day and the battery power alone is not enough. The EFOY fuel cell is suitable for this purpose as it is convenient, lightweight and charges the equipment with environment friendly power while the vehicles are stationery. Before this the BAG vehicles had to be connected to the power grid for the equipment to be charged or else the vehicles had to be idled for long time, generating quite an amount of noise and emissions. The BAG has been able to increase its operational readiness and reduced fleet costs by installing the EFOY fuel cell. The EFOY fuel cells can also be seamlessly hybridised with other energy sources such as solar panels. The EFOY fuel cartridges are available in three sizes ? 5, 10 and 28 litres.
