Mahindra Navistar launches two heavy trucks

The international runway at Sahar, Mumbai is being reconstructed. The repair work is being carried out in three phases between September 2010 and July 2011.

Mahindra Navistar Automotives Ltd (MNAL) recently launched two new heavy trucks – 25 tonner Tipper (MN25 Tipper) and 40 tonner Tractor Trailer (MN40). The trucks, said Rakesh Kalra, Managing Director, MNAL, were powered by the fuel efficient, powerful and world-renowned MAXXFORCE® engine. Nalin Mehta, Chief Operating Officer of MNAL said that with the launch of the two trucks, the company had become a full-range Commercial Vehicle player. MNAL already has two heavy trucks – MN25 and MN31 – and a range of LCVs in the market. Mehta informed that the company’s strategy was to introduce the vehicle to selected customers as it intended to create the right awareness in the market through them.

The company also rolled out its mobile service workshop to provide on-road assistance to its drivers “anywhere, anytime”. It has begun a 24/7 expert multilingual call centre, “NOW” for quick service. The driver facing a problem on the road is connected by the call centre employee to an employee who speaks the driver’s language so that his problem can be understood and he can be provided immediate assistance. MNAL has also put in place 430 Roadside Assistance centres. Mehta claimed that MNAL would draw on the vast pool of M&M auto and tractor channel partners to use an extended network for servicing the customers’ needs. “220 service points are already dedicated to the customers,” he said.
