First intelligent helmet for motorcycles

UK based motorcycle manufacturer Reevu has claimed to have developed the world?s first intelligent helmet system with a built-in head-up display (HUD). The new product enhances the earlier helmet produced by Reevu which was the first motorcycle helmet with built-in rearview mirror. The display is overlaid onto a mirror just above the motorcyclist?s line of sight. It will have information such as speed limits, data such as GPS navigation, performance, engine diagnostics & communications data, fuel consumption data, and lap and split timers. The compact ?Multiple Reflective Optical Systems? (MROPS) invented by the company allows the helmet to deliver information without eye strain or unnecessary distraction to the wearer. The company is initially working on a sports version of the helmet that it hopes to commercially produce in another 18-24 months.
