HMRTC to implement Metro rail corridor

According to the Haryana Government, Haryana Mass Rapid Transport Corporation (HMRTC) will be implementing the revised Gurugram-Manesar-Bawal metro project instead of HSIIDC. The decision was taken after the approving major changes in the existing alignment plan of the proposed Huda City Centre-Gurugram Railway Station Metro corridor.

As per the revised plan, the Metro route will now start from the Gurugram railway station, instead of the Huda City Centre, and run up to Manesar in the first phase. According to the earlier plan, the metro link between Huda City Centre and Manesar was to be developed in the first phase and the route connecting Manesar and Bawal in the second phase. The estimated cost of the 30-km long first phase was pegged to Rs 9,000 crore.
