India and Italy to co-operate on railway

The Ministry of Railways has entered a memorandum of understanding with the Ferrovie Dello Stato Italiane (FS Italian Railways) to address safety issues with the help of technology

Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu has directed the Railway Board to collaborate with the international experts on this subject and identify the best practices in this field. Currently, the company is working on six projects in India, which include the design and supervision of works for constructing the 750 meters Anji Khad Bridge between Katra and Raesi in Jammu and Kashmir. FS Italiane is managing the project for the development of two lines under the Mumbai Metro Rail Project. It will also collaborate in some sections of the eastern DFCC (Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation) freight.
