Korea to help a smart city in Kalyan-Dombivli

Kalyan Dombivli Municipal Corporation in Maharashtra will be helped to build its smart city of 15,000 houses by the Land & Housing Corporation (LH) of South Korea. The 2.5sqkm of land for the project will be supplied free by the Corporation. New Kalyan, about 30km east of Mumbai, is one of the 100 smart cities being planned. LH is expecting a planning permission from the government of Maharashtra by the end of 2017. Korea and India have entered a strategic partnership in 2015 and Korea will export its smart city technology that was developed at its city of Bundaang. LH has completed developing a smart city in Kuwait’s Spouth Saad Al Abdullah New City.
