Nissan to install 100 quick EV chargers across US

Japanese automaker Nissan is all set to install 100 DC quick EV (electric vehicle) chargers at LEAF certified dealers across the US. The quick chargers are expected to be operational by 2014. The new EV charging units will use the CHAdeMO standard, and will be capable of charging in around 30 minutes vehicles that have depleted 80% of their charge. The quick chargers and installation services for all the quick charging units will be provided by Nissan’s charging partner AeroVironment. The move is a part of the company’s efforts to advance the expansion of EV charging and strengthen awareness of the all-electric Nissan LEAF.
