TRAFFICINFRATECH EXPO 2011 On the road to success

Wilfred Menezes, Chief Executive Officer, Omnitec Systems India (P) Ltd, too made a similar observation. He said, “There haven’t been much of such opportunities in the past. When it comes to a particular industry, you need an audience. And TrafficInfraTech has given us that umbrella. It’s good to see a lot of international companies. For sure, this was a show we wanted quite some time back.” Omnitec, a company based in the Middle-East with its regional office in Gurgaon, is only one year old in India. “The organisers have done a good job. It is not only just putting up the stands here or providing the arena, it’s well maintained. Even the media coverage before the show was very good. The success of this show goes to the complete team work.”

German company Pepperl+Fuchs, which is into automation, displayed its RFID system in association with TagMaster. It is known for toll and parking solutions all over the world as it had looked after security at Common Wealth Games and provides services to Terminal 3 as well. Aman Monga, its Assistant General Manager, said, “The show was very good. We had very good response and good visitors. It is a well organised show with good facilities.”

Col Rakesh Tandon (Retd), General Manager, AutoPass India, was satisfied with the exposure the show gave him. “It has given me experience as to how I should organise my exhibition, what improvements I should go in for to make my exposure more effective and network with others in the same industry. It has helped me get more knowledge about the industry and how to grow more in the industry.” However, he also had a request for the organisers. He wished the organisers would also highlight the parking sector which is a growing industry in our country.” AutoPass deals in Parking & Guidance Systems and provides complete parking solutions for closed spaces like malls, hospitals, big hotels and public spaces.

Anuj Tygai, National Sales Manager, FAAC India Pvt Ltd, was all praise for the show. The company that has provided parking solutions and guidance systems for Terminal 3, was very happy with the response. He said, “This show will prove to be a boon for the industry through its subsequent series. It has everything it takes right in the first attempt, and it can only go ahead from here. We are so happy with the show that next time, we will take the initiative of inviting the visitors. And, we will come for the next TrafficInfraTech expo in a much larger way.” FAAC has been mainly working through system integrators for security. But it wants to enter different segments like government sector such as NHAI and toll management companies. “Here, we met those people.”

Deepak Kumar Jain, Director, Radha Road Maintenance Pvt Ltd said, “We carry out repairs of roads, traffic signals, road lights, etc all over India and our projects are on in Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh and Dehradun. We have come to garner more business and learn about newer technologies, and the fact that NHAI and PWD officers have visited us and enquired about our road products has instilled confidence that we will benefit from this show.”

Peter of Zehnter GmbH Testing Instruments, Switzerland came to the show to expand his market. “We make equipment to test road marking and traffic systems. This is a chance to introduce our equipment in your country. We are happy with the enquiries we are getting.”

Arnold Venema, Director, Data Signs, Australia said that he had received a broad spectrum of visitors and a good response at a show that he thought was very good as an introduction to the market. “We are being represented here by MassTrans as they are well established in bus destination sings and parking systems in this market.” Rohit Tiwari, Assistant Manager, Effort Polymers Pvt Ltd (Road Safety Products), on the other hand, said he found exhibiting at the show a great experience. “We are looking at retailers here as we have been dealing directly with wholesalers and traders till now. We are here to capture the local market in Delhi and the response to our products has been very good.”

Ajay Agrawal, CEO, Tayal Traders that deals in breath alcohol analysers said he had had every type of visitor he was hoping for, including air traffic departments. “We have a range of products from the lowest model to the fully automated ones for airports, traffic police, railways, etc. Luckily, we also received enquiries from distributors. I am very satisfied and hope that such fairs are often organised in Delhi so that Indian products get promoted too.”

Torsten Pape, Director, Sales & Marketing, HOFMANN said, “We produce road marking machines. We took part in this first road safety exhibition in India because we are of the opinion that there is a very huge market and we have to start with road safety in India. It is a good start.”

NHAI that lent its support for the show was happy too. Said S P Sharma, its Assistant Manager (Media Relations), “By supporting the TrafficInfraTech Expo, we are helping a great cause before us as a nation – that of road safety. This exhibition is emphasising on road safety and other features related to regulation of traffic.” NHAI too had received many enquiries particularly related to its electric division.

BK Gupta, Project Management Consultant, RITES (which is under administrative control of Ministry of Railways), visited the show as it emphasised on road safety. “I am looking for some solutions for the projects I am presently working on like road safety barriers and noise barriers. We, at RITES, have given the parameters of our requirements to a few countries participating here and we will take it further from here on. I am very optimistic that I will get the solution here.” Saying the show was very well organised, he added, “I have not seen so many vendors anywhere. It is very nice to see so many Indian vendors too. This show is very well organised.” Satyendra, Manager with RITES added, “We recently attended a conference organised by a known body but the vendors here are much, much more than that conference. This show should be held every year.”
