market leader in ITS, Traffic Management and Road Safety. We
found Indian market very fast growing and it is interesting for us.
This Expo happened to be the right time to showcase our products
and systems”.
Ian Mayhew, Head- Consultancy Services,
Siemens UK found the range of topics at
the conference very interesting. He said,
“I particularly liked the presentation by
Hyderabad police, wherein they spoke about
their new projects. I presented on adaptive
control system called SCOOT which takes real-
time traffic information data to the centralized
system and optimizes the splits of the green
time phase, the cycle time which is the amount of
time available and the offset which is the green time between two
junctions. It is deployed around the world and Siemens is one of the
only two or three companies that are able to sell it.
“We installed it in Delhi for the BRT project and faced a number of
challenges. The traffic conditions are different from Europe where
it is deployed as well. However, some of those are very adaptable
systems and we are now looking at other cities in India who are
interested in our system. We have had some good meetings over the
last few days and some of those cities are very interested in adaptive
control system. We went to some stalls at the Expo and found it
interesting to see that their products are very similar to those that we
see in Europe. I am also very interested in some of the developments
that those companies are doing”.
Said R Venkatesh, Director & General Manager-
South Asia, Magnetic Autocontrol Pvt Ltd, “We
have been participating in TrafficInfraTech Expo
for the last few years. We see it as an important
platform for infrastructure business. In the last
two years, Magnetic has also made its presence
felt in the BRTS and MRTS projects. We are also
looking at the Smart Cities with our parking
solutions. TrafficInfraTech has provided us with
a very important platform to exhibit some of
our newer products and technologies. We are happy to launch our
toll barrier which does not require any external power. The barrier
drives fully on solar with 24V 7 Ah battery which is an important
step undertaken by Magnetic towards greener environment. We also
have an interesting portfolio for multimodal systems that integrates
the parking, security and fare-collection business. We are happy to
participate in the TrafficInfraTech Expo this year
while we also do expect from the organizers
to come up with yet newer technologies being
used to promote such exhibitions”.
Said Senthil Mariappan, CEO, Datacorp,
“We are the professional traffic data collection
company for the whole country. In our country,
we still follow the traditional methods but
